FAA Administrator Huerta to Lead Discussion Tomorrow at SXSW
on the Future of Small Unmanned Aircraft

AUSTIN, Texas – FAA Administrator Michael Huerta will make opening remarks and moderate a panel discussion with several industry and government partners about the future of small unmanned aircraft. Discussion topics are expected to include UAS registration, the MicroUAS aviation rulemaking committee, steps to speed integration, new uses for unmanned aircraft, tests of extended visual line-of-sight operations, safety and education initiatives, and more.

Partnerships are key to the FAA’s ability to safely and efficiently integrate UAS into our nation’s busy and complex airspace system. The event is being sponsored by the Academy of Model Aeronautics (AMA), Association of Unmanned Vehicle Systems (AUVSI), CompTIA, Hogan Lovells, Internet Coalition, Small UAV Coalition, and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.
