FEB.9 (Southeastern PA) Decreased Medical Helicopter Availability Likely

It is entirely likely that medical  helicopters will not be flying today due to weather and in fact, may already be unavailable. While monitoring local helicopter air traffic there has been a noticeable decrease in normal radio communications.

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) today issued a safety alert to U.S. and foreign commercial passenger and cargo airlines, urging them to conduct a safety risk assessment to manage the risks associated with transporting lithium batteries as cargo.
